Welcome

Rumo Consulting is a research and consulting organization advising businesses, industry associations, governments, and think tanks on trade remedies, trade policy, and the trade–climate interface — combining legal expertise with rigorous, data-driven analysis.

About

"Rumo" is Portuguese for "direction" or "bearing". Rumo Consulting helps clients chart a clear, well-reasoned course through the complexities of international trade law and policy.

Rumo brings together legal, economic, and analytical expertise across trade remedies, trade and climate policy, market access issues, WTO governance, and data-driven research. Rumo combines a rigorous, evidence-based approach with practical judgment — translating dense regulatory and economic detail into clear strategy and defensible positions, whether before an investigating authority, in a negotiation, or in a policy debate.

Rumo works with businesses, industry associations, governments, NGOs, and think tanks, in India and internationally.

Services

Rumo Consulting works across three mutually reinforcing areas, combining legal expertise, policy insight, and rigorous data analysis.

Trade Remedies

We advise and represent clients in trade remedy investigations and disputes — including anti-dumping, countervailing duty, and safeguard proceedings — before domestic and foreign authorities. Our work spans the full life of a proceeding: petition drafting and questionnaire responses, injury and dumping analysis, hearings and submissions, and appeals.

Policy Advisory

We provide policy advisory services to businesses, industry associations, NGOs, think tanks, and governments navigating trade negotiations, regulatory change, and market access issues. This includes advice on WTO law, free trade agreements, customs and TBT matters, and the fast-evolving trade–climate interface — from border carbon adjustments to green industrial policy.

Data Research & Analytics

Our data research and analytics practice supports legal and policy engagements with rigorous quantitative analysis — market and trade-flow studies, injury and pricing analysis, and evidence-building to support legal and policy positions. We translate dense regulatory and economic detail into clear, defensible strategy.
